Threat Level’s New Vision & Direction

Here’s a “small” announcement to discuss what our current plans are for the new direction that Threat Level will be taking.

Up until this current moment, Threat Level has succeeded wildly as an overarching organization that houses a collection of autonomous clans, we have found this to be the most successful method to achieve the goals we have desired and it has served us miraculously in building loyalty to the organization as a whole AND each clan individually.

Which is fantastic, it's amazing, we've built seriously one of the best and most successful community clan systems in CR in terms of size, loyalty, sense of community and so many other positive metrics.

This has been demonstrated to the highest levels of Leadership several times as we’ve been approached by multiple clan families and major eSports organizations in attempts to merge because the one thing that we have that most organizations and eSports teams lack, our large and loyal community.

We want to continue to expand our community and perfect the values and culture that we have worked so hard over the last 2 years to establish and practice daily here. Some of those values are mutual respect; kindness; tolerance; self-improvement and improvement; equipping members to be leaders and be successful; etc. and every single one of our 700 community members has done superb and phenomenal in representing those values to the community, so thank you.

We have many developments coming in the next month and further than that, more in the next few months. Some of which I am unable to discuss in much detail due to contractual obligations until the beginning of next month, but I will share the broad details and some of the macro and micro changes in our organization's vision.

Our overarching vision is to transform Threat Level from a collection of community Clash Royale clans into an actual gaming organization with a focus on development, both to the community and individuals. The areas we want to focus on are listed below.

Areas of Focus:

  1. Player Development;
  2. Staff Development;
  3. Content Development; and
  4. Community Building Initiatives

Some of the following changes and areas are expected to be changed and improved on:

Registering the Business

Threat Level will be registered as an official business registered within the state of principal operation with the Secretary of State and local municipality allowing us to conduct business.

Community Investment

We will be accepting investment opportunities from community members, and of course, the general public at large, through our Patreon support page and other methods (PayPal, CashApp, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, etc.) of which 100% of income will be directly put back in the community in the form of, but not limited to:

  • Intra-clan family tournaments;
  • Public tournaments;
  • Recruitment Events;
  • Hosting and Co-Leagues;
  • Invite Contests;
  • Giveaways;
  • Bounties;
  • eSports;
  • Other opportunities as Leadership develops them.

And to repeat myself and be clear: 100% of investments will be re-distributed directly back into the community and community building initiatives, Leadership will not receive any compensation for any work done. This does exclude professional staff and work done.

Financial reports will be released monthly to show all income and expenses; our intent as an organization is to break even on a monthly basis, but will certainly on a quarterly basis. (Every dollar we take via this mechanism will go back out into the community.)

Any investment with the Organization will be rewarded with special perks, including but not limited to: Discord roles to identify players that have financially committed to seeing our common success and invested in our common future together as a family and an organization; Being included in monthly Discord Nitro + Pass Royale give away raffles; early access to event and vision discussion; private suggestion discussion; private communication with the professional eSports team, including text and voice chats not available to the general public, coaching sessions, Q&A, viewing ladder push sessions, and other events; other uses as Leadership or the community develop ideas together.

https://www.patreon.com/threatlevel will be our Patreon page

We are also very open to suggestions for additional perks to be added.

Registering Threat Level as a company will also allow us to gain sponsors, which are not available to unregistered organizations.

In the event the organization receives products from sponsors, any items not immediately needed for organizational use only will be raffled off to the Investment community. (Those who have invested with the organization through any platforms such as Patreon, PayPal, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Venmo, CashApp, etc.)

Professional eSports Team

Threat Level will be hosting a professional eSports team, which will be officially announced, including a roster in early October. We will not be able to provide much detail on this due to contractual obligations, but the team we will be hosting currently has a roster that includes players that have competed in all major eSports competitions, including Clash Contender Series, No Tilt, etc.

We also believe that the incoming management team has the potential to take the entire team into the top brackets of the professional circuit, including CRL.

This will also help us to build a reputation in areas we currently lack severely, namely the competitive scene.

This will also allow community interaction with them to, stream, voice chat, host watch parties, Q&A, etc. all with the focus of allowing players to improve to whatever level they desire, use our team as a recruitment tool and to give our community a sense of pride in the organization.

Community Improvements

Threat Level will continue improving community relations and interactions through:

3a) Improvements in the Discord server, both internally and for members outside of the immediate CR organization.

We have already begun this with the global section and will continue to expand this initiative to be more accessible, especially with the expected influx of recruits from the community building initiatives we have planned, the incoming professional eSports team, re-focusing our community teams, etc..

3b) A strong presence on other social media, including Twitter, Reddit, Facebook and other social media platforms.

We believe this is crucial for our continued success and growth, to be accessible and not walled off from the outside community. We expect to gain a strong following and community from outside of the organization and believe that limiting our Discord to members only or not having an active presence on social media platforms will damage our reputation as we are not “approachable” and hamper recruitment efforts by not taking full advantage of community based platforms.

Professional and Player Development

Threat Level will place a much higher focus on player and professional development through the following areas:

4a) Supporting and Encouraging Content Creators.
We are going to begin focusing heavily on supporting content creators on all platforms by means of exclusive access to content, such as: Streaming pro team content such as ladder pushing and other events the public is allowed to spectate; other exclusive content will include, streaming tournaments, hosted leagues, bounties, etc.

Other benefits include, but are not limited to: technical support; visual design; (Overlays, Banners, etc.) community announcement privileges in Discord; private channels for Content Creators only to discuss strategy, scheduling; Q&A, etc.

This will allow players to develop skills in many areas: communication, entertainment and lets not forget, monetization.

4b) ESports staff and management. Members of our eSports team staff and players and other high potential candidates will have the opportunity to work with, in some capacity, the incoming Pro team management and team to develop the administrative and play skills and attitudes necessary to compete successful in the Semi-Pro and Pro leagues

Event Organization

We will be hosting and co-hosting several leagues, including, RFL, the 5 man internal and external KOTH league and then a larger, open league.

Expanding into Other Games

Threat Level will begin to look at expanding into other games, slowly and stably. Other games we are currently in or looking into expanding into, are:

  1. Clash of Clans
  2. Call of Duty Mobile;
  3. Rocket League

We are currently in talks to absorb a clan family on Clash of Clans that competes in ESL.

We are open to suggestions for new games to expand into.

This entire change of direction came about when pondering further on an application I submitted for a Semi-Pro league, I asked myself:

What is our organization doing to build our player base and community? What are we doing to teach our community to be better people, to gain skills they can use the rest of their life? What are we doing to promote our community to be more recognized in the larger, outside community? What is our organization doing to help people succeed?

I want to shift focus a little in the purpose of our organization to help players enjoy their experience in the game, to become a more organized and enjoyable community, to become widely know, to make money doing what they enjoy and to learn skills like communication, team work, healthy conflict resolution, being kind even when another person is not, respect for everyone, administrative and management skills, how to do something you want to do like streaming when you have no idea how to.

Financial Expenditures:

For transparency sake, I will break down the total cost so far and in the immediate future of this transition for myself:

  • Filing LLC: $300
  • Amending LLC: $200
  • Obtaining Business License in my local jurisdiction: ~$50
  • Office Supplies:

  • Hosting: $35 per month

Donated Services:

  • TLD: $12 per year

I am thankful for the community we have built and can’t thank you enough for being part of this and reading all of this. I believe we have created one of the most amazing communities that exists on Clash Royale, and I want to take what we have built and continue to expand and improve with the resources we have, namely, all of you.

Our vision since we started this organization was to always continue and improve our efforts to help players enjoy Clash Royale and more importantly, the community that has come together.

We believe that this is the next logical step to help us continue to grow as a community, to improve our professionalism and influence inside Clash Royale and also to expand our community into other games, to expand our influence and our community.

Everything we do is centered directly around you.

Thank you for being part of this and our common future together.
